Review by Werner Brynard

The album Sexcrime 1984 1984 For The Love Of Big Brother by Eurythmics is a unique and intriguing collection of songs that captures the essence of George Orwell's dystopian novel '1984'. The album features haunting and atmospheric tracks that perfectly capture the dark and oppressive nature of Orwell's world.

Eurythmics' signature sound is present throughout the album, with Annie Lennox's powerful vocals and Dave Stewart's ethereal guitar riffs creating an otherworldly atmosphere. The title track 'Sexcrime (Nineteen Eighty-Four)' is a standout, with its ominous synths and Lennox's fierce vocals perfectly encapsulating the themes of the novel.

Other notable tracks include 'I Did It Just the Same', which features a driving beat and Lennox's commanding vocals, and 'Julia', a haunting ballad that showcases Lennox's incredible range.

British synthpop duo: (b. December 25, 1954, Aberdeen, UK) and (b. September 9, 1952, Sunderland, UK). They first recorded together as members of new wave band who would change their name to and enjoy two UK top ten hits in early 1980, but disband before the year was out. In 1981, Lennox and Stewart made their debut as Eurythmics, though they struggled to gain recognition at first, only breaking through with their sixth single "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)". This was the turning point of their career. They continued to be one of the leading synth groups throughout the eighties. After a long period of solo activities in the early and mid-90s Eurythmics re-united for one album and charity world tour in 1999 and in 2004 for the release of extended, remastered and repacked editions of their previous albums and a second hits compilation. Eurythmics released one song (b-side of "Put A Little Love In Your Heart" by Annie Lennox & ) under the alias "The Spheres Of Celestial Influence

2:51 i can just imagine this absolutely crushing at a live event
I do believe "1984 (For the love of Big Brother)" is a musical masterpiece, probably is far superior than Radiohead's OK Computer... It should have been fair to this record to recieve some of the attention the hyped OK Computer got...
this song goes so effing hard
No this is Bidens soundtrack
Annie Lennox is a BEAST ?
you can take a look inside Annie's mind, to SEE who she was 'taking notes' from when she was a kid...and I bet a buck it was Etta and Aretha. But her own voice is free and clear of any direct comparisons. She knows how to make herself transparent, without trying to sound like someone else. She's a legend in her own time...and she needs to get more props.
One of my favorite Eurythmics album. It's double plus good.
And today I heard the SCOTUS is maneuvring to overturn Roe v Wade.
One of the most sublime opening tracks to an album ever.

When a singer evokes so much emotion in her delivery that she can bring you to tears with:
"Mm Mm Mm Mm Mm"
"Woah Woah Woah Ah" and
"Do Do Do Do Do Hey!
I don't understand the point of these images..
Woke up with this on my brain...37 years and it still seeps deep into my subconscious. Thanks, Annie and Dave. Great video.
One of the most under rated but brilliant albums that the Eurythmics ever did.
