Draconian - Where Lovers Mourn

Draconian's album "Where Lovers Mourn" is a hauntingly beautiful piece of work that showcases the band's ability to create a unique blend of doom metal and gothic rock. The album is filled with sorrowful melodies, atmospheric soundscapes, and powerful vocals that will leave listeners captivated from start to finish.
The opening track, "The Cry of Silence," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its slow, melancholic guitar riffs and the hauntingly beautiful voice of singer Lisa Johansson. The band's use of keyboards and orchestral arrangements throughout the album adds to the overall atmosphere and gives the songs a grandiose feel.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Silent Winter," which features a guest appearance from vocalist Anders Jacobsson of the band Draconian. The duet between Johansson and Jacobsson is a beautiful and emotional moment that perfectly captures the theme of the album.

You can hear the maturity of the output on this debut album by Draconian, after all, they had release a couple of demos by then.What does it mean?Compositions are solid, memorable and well executed contrasting with heavy guitars, growling and lush keyboards or keyboards. Obvious references are My Dying Bride but I can also find some Katatonia/After Forever/Epica, especially in the second song.Some songs like "Reversio ad secessum" offer classical romantism with violin-like and acoustic piano decorations. Another original input is showcased in the Celtic-folk inspired "Akherousia".This is a high-quality doom-death metal with Gothic, folk elements before Draconian started to repeat themselves.

2021 Here!! The best female singer they've had, even ahead of the beautiful Heike. It's very close though.
