Donald Rubinstein's album "George A. Romero's Martin" is a hauntingly beautiful tribute to the late horror film director. Rubinstein's music perfectly captures the unsettling and eerie tone of Romero's 1978 film "Martin," which tells the story of a young man who believes he is a vampire.
The album's opening track, "The Calling/Main Title," sets the tone with its ominous and foreboding melody. From there, Rubinstein takes the listener on a journey through a range of emotions, from the melancholic "Phased" to the frenzied "The First Kill."
The album's standout track is "The Calling (Reprise)," which features Rubinstein's haunting vocals layered over a hauntingly beautiful piano melody. It's a fitting tribute to Romero's legacy, capturing the director's unique ability to blend horror with emotional depth.
