Review by Debbie Deardorf

Crow's self-titled debut album, released in 1969, showcases the band's unique blend of blues, rock, and psychedelic sounds. The album's opener, "Evil Woman (Don't Play Your Games With Me)," immediately sets the tone with its heavy guitar riffs and soulful vocals. The rest of the album follows suit, with tracks like "White Eyes" and "Cottage Cheese" showcasing the band's versatility and musical prowess.

One standout track is "Slow Down," a bluesy number that highlights the band's ability to create a laid-back groove while still maintaining a sense of urgency. Another highlight is "Love's Gonna Live Here," a soulful ballad that showcases lead vocalist Dave Wagner's emotive range.

Australian band active from 1988 to 1999. The Fenton/Archer/Woff/Fenton lineup of Crow reformed in 2007 to play a show in Sydney (with ex-drummer Andy Marks supporting) and, since then, play shows a few times each year. They released a fifth long-player called Arcane in 2010 (Nonzero Records).{;}Hip Hop artist (MC/Producer) from Los Angeles, California.{;}Minneapolis blues-rock quintet Crow was formed in 1967 by frontman Dave Wagner, guitarist Dick Wiegand, his bassist brother Larry, and keyboardist Kink Middlemist. Originally dubbed South 40, they added former Castaways drummer Denny Craswell to the lineup prior to recording their 1969 debut LP, Crow Music, for the Amaret label; the single "Evil Woman Don't You Play Your Games with Me" cracked the U.S. Top 20, even though its distinctive horn arrangement was overdubbed against the band's wishes. Crow by Crow followed in 1970, although the single "Cottage Cheese" failed to attract much attention. In the wake of 1971's Mosaic, Crow disbanded, although Wagner resurfaced in 1973 with a solo LP, David Wagner D/B/A Crow.
