Copper Penny - Rock N Roll Boogie Woogie And Wine

Review by Keith Melo

Copper Penny's album, Rock N Roll Boogie Woogie And Wine, is a delightful collection of classic rock and roll tunes. The band's energy is infectious, and listeners will find themselves tapping their feet and singing along in no time.

The album's title track sets the tone for the rest of the record, with its upbeat tempo and catchy melody. Other standout tracks include "Jump, Jive, and Wail" and "Blue Suede Shoes," both of which showcase the band's impressive musicianship and tight arrangements.

One of the album's strengths is its ability to capture the spirit of the rock and roll era while still feeling fresh and contemporary. The band's sound is polished and professional, but there's a rawness and authenticity to their performances that keeps things interesting.

About Copper Penny

Canadian band from Kitchener, Ontario. Formed in 1965 while the British Invasion had been in full force, and so naming the group "The Penny Farthings" didn't sound like such a bad idea. It was changed to "Copperpenny" (or "Copper Penny" as shown on many of their singles), the following year. The new designation was taken from the title of the Verve B-side of "If I Call You By Some Name," a 1966 release by The Paupers. Rich Wamil - keyboards and lead vocals; Kenny Hollis - lead vocals; Vern (Laverne) McDonald - lead guitar; Bert Hamer - drums and percussion; Paul Reibling - bass, - replaced by ex-Rain member, Ron Hiller (born July 7, 1953). In their prime, the band was seen several times on national television, they were popular on hit radio stations across the country and performed over 100 shows a year.
