Jazz Alive, the latest album by Bill O'Connell Big Band, is a magnificent display of musicality and creativity. The album features eleven tracks that showcase the band's incredible musicianship and their ability to blend different styles of jazz seamlessly.
From the opening track, "Zocalo," to the closing number, "The Path," Jazz Alive takes the listener on a journey through different moods and emotions. The band's arrangements are tight and precise, with each musician contributing to the overall sound in a meaningful way.
The album also features some outstanding solo performances, particularly from saxophonist Ralph Bowen and trumpeter Brian Lynch. Their improvisations are both technically impressive and emotionally engaging, adding depth and complexity to the music.
